Might as well give him a blood orange mimosa while he has the head set on while on the sidelines.

to at least 1.2 million.
Very odd that he's at 850k and then 3 other Defensive assittants are all at 800k.

I say wait til next season and see what he does after all the seniors and upperclassmen are gone. If he does what he did this season he deserves to be doubled up on his raise.

Thank god Dabo chewed him out for the 3 man fronts. We don’t have the personnel to stay in that ..

I’m only half kidding. I do like Garrett Riley and I’m glad he’s our Offensive Cord! I believe our future is bright on that side of the ball

The offense has gone downhill since Scott left, obviously, and it would be wise to hire him back. I’m not sold on Riley, personally. Having a brother or dad that’s decent at coaching doesn’t mean one is also good and I’m not totally sold on the brother at USC, either. He’s a PlayStation coach in that he only wants to play offense and defense still wins championships, or puts you in the running for a championship. USC, the real one, is losing to teams worse than ACC schools

but I have to say, we need to give GR his shot. I think we found out our starters aren't what we were led to believe they were, and he's having to build this offense from the ground up.

Can't expect him to make chicken salad out of chicken $hit. You should try playing chess with checkers pieces. It's no fun.

offensive side that needs to be swapped out and then Riley will need to show he's worth the $2m. Hard to do when handicapped with OL, receiver, and TE coach(less)es he's saddled with. Need to take a look at that high school coach on the defensive side also.

What defensive coach are you referring to???? The defense is 6th in total defense. They are giving up less than 300 yards a game on defense. Take away the points that were actually scored against the offense and they are top 20 in scoring defense!!

Ask yourself: How well would Kirby Smart and his complete staff of offensive coaches have done this year with the exact same roster of offensive players we have right now? Or Ryan Day and his complete staff of offensive assistants? Or Kalen DeBoer of Washington? Or Jim Harbaugh of Michigan?

I will answer my own question above: My guess is that Smart, Day, DeBoer and Harbaugh and their offensive staffs would have struggled with the offensive players we currently have. All of them have better quarterbacks than we have, for starters. And better offensive lines. And better long-ball receivers. To be fair to Riley, the issue is not his pay. It is what he had to work with when he became our offensive coordinator. The big decision is coming up as soon as this disappointing season is over.

Yes. We haven’t been developing players in years.
We look like we didn’t even practice in the off-season at the start of each year.
We stop loading the nfl with players and nfl players will stop coming here ..

We should at least be taking 25 every year. People will transfer out. Why are we so stupid? for academic APR?
We’ve never carried enough OL on the roster. It’s the slowest developing position. The personnel issues are a result of letting the offensive scheme go stagnant. Took away motion and all sorts of details that made it work. We think we gonna our talent everyone. That’s not how you get more talent.

TigerDominance you and I are usually on the same note with the O-line as the crux of our team...the game is won in the trenches.
I don't know so I'm just putting it out there...do other D1 teams need to carry 25 O-Linemen? That's like 25-30% of a roster depending on scholarship status. I guess what I'm saying is, if we were to get better quality (cough-out of state, good ol' blue collar Mid-West or deep south grain fed guys), would we need less quantity?
Surely we can fork out $800k to a proven O Line Coach/Recruiter. I'm afraid it's not an area of emphasis.
Just my thoughts, no ill will towards our TA or players whatsoever.

Jim Harbaugh would have stunk with this team. The oline is not good enough to run his scheme.
Everyone else. Yes they would have done better.
Say what you will, Riley has been nothing special.

He needs the right position coaches around him. Hopefully changes in the offseason and Dabo goes after an elite OL coach and WR coach. Spiller has been good. RBs just need better blockers at the positions mentioned earlier.

At least Riley is gainfully employed and hasn't left two college programs in a wake of destruction when he left!
