Serious question about voter fraud.

There are 14 states that don’t require any form of voter id. Isn’t that possibly an avenue leading to voter fraud?

No evidence of wide scale voter fraud using this vehicle has ever been provided.

there are isolated cases here and there, but nothing that would be considered serious.
Nevertheless, requiring ID to vote is common sense and those 14 states should get it together.

Yeah, I tend to agree. Even if you didn’t have an i.d. You would still have to give them a name, right? I guess someone could make up a name. Not sure how it could lead to fraud. Just pondering the issue.

over it, as long as people are open minded to the fact meaningful voter fraud doesn't occur that way. It's that funny middle ground in that voter ID doesn't really do much for fraud, but also being against voter ID is also a very weak position because of "cost." It's low hanging fruit for election integrity so why wouldn't you do it.

Well, for one, lack of convictions beyond individual, isolated cases.

Showing up to vote in place of another person is not exactly a hard scheme to foil.
Which is also how I know. The amount of effort it would take to influence statewide or federal elections by showing up in person to fraudulently vote is beyond reason, and would be in numbers that would make it quickly identifiable.
If voter fraud is going to occur, it's not going to be with fraudulent in-person voting.

Id is required to do literally everything else in society so pretending having it to vote is some kind of racist dog whistle is one of the lefts bigger absurdities.

There is no evidence of widespread voter fraud due to the lack of voter id.
There is however evidence that certain communities, who lack ids, vote democrat.
Republicans know this. I don't think Republicans are being racist either, but they aren't pushing voter id to prevent voter fraud, because again, they know that's not happening. They know it will impact votes for democrats.
This is the same party that screamed widespread fraud was going on and lost every case. Let's not act like they have good intentions here.

Chicken Little attitude with voter fraud, but this isn't one of them.
This is a genuine interest in election integrity, even if they are incorrect in what they believe the risk to be. And, I don't buy the impact on voter turn-out that voter ID is alleged to have, nor do I believe that getting an identification card to vote is an unconstitutional burden; and the Left does not want to chase that standard.

But there are a few things that prevent someone from voting as me. First, I've been voting by mail in recent years, so they'd have to snag the ballot out of my mailbox. Second, when you go in person you have to sign a logbook, which has a copy of your signature already so they can compare.
I've thought about volunteering at the polls to learn more about the process. They always need people.
