It's go time... but as we know from so many men's teams of past, it's rare for a 10-15 place team make matchplay. Top 15 would be historic. Top 8 and matchplay would be an epic and memorialized year like football making the 4 team playoff.
Winning medal play and secure the one seed would be mind blowing. To me, that'd be like winning a natty. Whew, some kind of fun stuff. Already have broken barriers just being top 3 after 2 rounds...

Everybody seems to be waiting for a wheel to come off for our Lady Tigers. Have you actually stopped to think that they belong? That instead of just sliding in to match play by a stroke, that they have as good a shot as anyone in the field at taking the crown? That no one actually wants to face them in match play?

All of our ladies have won championships at every level they've played at. No one in this thread has ever doubted they couldn't win a natty. But imo, golf is perhaps the hardest championship to win in sports. Just ask any coach.
All I said is we're off to a great start. Nothing more, nothing less.

Should still be safe for the 15-team cut at conclusion of this day's round but think tomorrow is gonna be very nerve-wracking trying to make the 8-team cutoff for match play.
Annabelle having the rough day hurts, especially after she kept the team afloat through yesterday's rough patch. But idk what they can do to get the mojo back as a group after 2 rough rounds.

This is only 3 of 7 for a squad going the distance, so hopefully more time taking in the course and how to play it better for those ahead of them.

Solid round today for the Lady Tigers. They did what they had to do and I fully expect them to comfortably advance to Match Play. Already looking forward to watching them on the Golf Channel on Monday (coverage starts at 6PM). The "jinxers/ beware of golf gods", etc etc etc out there will hate this post.  Let's go!

+5 could wind up being the 4th best team score of the day. Barring some afternoon miracles, a 4th place after Round 3 looks likely. With a large gap between 4th and 5th.
Scores overall not as good today. Might be only two even or under-par team scores today. Do the hole locations change daily in NCAA tournaments?

Yes, they change daily. Tougher pins today, particularly on the back which has played easier all week.

As the tournament has gone on. Our girls earned a little house money to play with thanks to a strong 1st round, but seems like they weren't an exception either. They were on pace for staying at even par overall but Chloe hit a double bogey on her final hole to hurt the team score (shame b/c she had her best round of tourney).
But yes, Top 15 teams and select individuals continue after today - Round 4 will decide the individual championship & the Top 8 teams after Rd 4 move on to match play to decide the team championship.

With the round finished, we are currently 4th and 10 shots ahead of 8th place which bodes well going into tomorrow and trying to finish Top 8 to get to match play.
I like our chances for Top 8 if we stay focused.

The way it looks right now all but 3-4 teams, out of 30, are shooting over +5 on the day, so our score is not that bad comparatively speaking.
Also, Coots have the worst score of the day at +23 with still a few holes to go...

Sorry Southeasterntiger , I was on the course hacking it about with my friends in Bennettsville this afternoon.
When I got off the course and checked Our Scores, I was saddened to see we shot +5 again . . . then I looked at all the other scores . . . and SMILED!!!!!!!
We have shot the 4th best score of all the Teams that have completed their rounds!!! We are in GREAT SHAPE to advance, not only to tomorrow’s 18 Holes . . . But onward to the Top 8!!! Yes, we must stay focused and play well tomorrow . . . But Our Round today was “icing on the cake” compared to most Teams.
Look at the coots . . . They are the #2 or #3 Seed??? . . . Yes, they are in the Top 15 Right NOW . . . BUT it will be a miraculous finish if they are there when they complete their 3rd Round. You say,” well, they are missing their All American, Hannah Darling” . . . to which I say, “ we have played almost the entire SEASON without Our Best Player, Savannah Grewal, as she turned Pro mid season!”
No excuses . . . Our Gals have performed well!!!
CUTIGERDAD wonders if any of us thought we could WIN it All??? My reply to him before this Tournament started would have been, “I do not think we are ELITE (without Savannah) . . . But I Do Think we can compete with anyone for one Day.” After witnessing these first 3 Rounds, I think we are better than I gave Our Girls Credit for Being!!!
They make me even more Proud to be a TIGER!!!
I emailed Coach Hester before the Tournament telling her how proud I am of Our Gals and the Job she has done with them . . . even going as far as to tell her Clemson’s Women’s Golf is my favorite Tiger Sport to follow . . . even surpassing Football. Thought I’d never admit that, but it’s the truth. Annabelle Pancake’s performance last year at the UK Amateur Event swayed my allegiance!!!
Back to today, I told y’all after Chloe’s Opening Round that her scores would be huge before this Tournament is over. Her -2 Round today proved she is no fluke and is a force to be reckoned with!!! Kudos to her for carrying us today!!!

Clemson is highest placing ACC team after 3 rds

& currently 10 strokes above the teams currently occupying the 8 team cutoff spot going into the final stroke play round.
#2/ACC champ Wake Forest & #9 Duke will make the 15-team cutoff. Florida State looks like they will miss the cutoff.
Also of note is we officially finished ahead of #3/SEC champ South Carolina. From what I've been able to tell, that would be a draw on the year over 4 golf tournaments (Tigers finishing ahead of them at Blessings Intercollegiate & this weekend, Gamecocks finishing ahead at Therese Hession Challenge & Augusta Invitational). That means Clemson will finish ahead of SC in the scored athletics contests for the Palmetto Series with 5-4 point advantage (there's also 3 non-athletics points still unaccounted for, but hopefully having the athletics edge will give us our 1st win in the all-sport series).

FSU snuck in at 15 with a birdie on the last hole by their best player (pars all day until the last hole). Arizona State left out (only team from the morning 15 to not advance to Monday).
Other than Clemson, the other ACC teams are a longshot to even get to the top 8.
You could count Stanford as ACC, but they are not, yet. The SEC will likely claim Texas, though.
