ESPN (SEC) and FOX (B1G) are effectively in control

of and are the decision makers for all of college football and by extension, since college football pays for most all of the other sports, all of college athletics.
And that is terrible.

If one follows the money, one will ALWAYS arrive at their destination. Billions of dollars were being produced by teens and those barely out of their teens. The majority from impoverished financial backgrounds and the adults in charge who were making millions did not deem it appropriate to even give them a free $3 BIG Mac. That is what greed and stupidity gets you.
I applaud what is happening to college FB revenue being shared with the ones producing it.
Instead of blitching about it, those stupid greedy people who caused it are being dragged screaming and hollering to the table by the federal courts to fix it. I have no confidence that the ones who turned a blind eye to it and fattened their bank accounts will fix it. It will take those who are not part of the problem to fix it. It's a simple fix, actually. Just share the revenue produced by the players with the players. And that is what the federal courts are going to see happen with Attorney Kessler's law suit against the NCAA. The NCAA was always run by people who loved the power but had no common sense. A bad combination of arrogance which eventually leads to your downfall.

On the other hand, those teens were getting a free college education and coaching to be successful in life after football. It's my opinion that if the teens want to go make money, let them go to the NFL and/or a new minor league football league and take their chances. If they want an education and be prepped for the real world, go to college.

That argument did not hold water in the federal courts. And that argument and thinking is what led to where CFB now finds itself. Players were given athletic scholarships, not academic one's. They were enrolled with that scholarship for one reason. To play football. They were given all kinds of help not given to the other students to keep them academically eligible to play football.

I have no problem with tuition/room/board being valued as part of their compensation package, but it’s not the entire thing. They are producing tangible value for the university and the athletic department, more so than ever before in history, so why shouldn’t they be allowed to get a cut of it? Would you work at your job without a salary just because they covered training, healthcare and gave you free lunch? No you probably wouldn’t. I don’t get why everyone wants to spite these 18 year old kids to further pad the pockets of people that already set for life.
Besides, there is no other option, they aren’t eligible for the NFL until 3 years after HS, and unlike basketball the transition is much more difficult from HS to Pros in terms of weight training, development, game speed, etc. This is the world we live in now, the 1960s aren’t ever coming back so stop whining about it

are the primary reason Clemson University and Clemson have exploded with development and nationwide student interest over the past ten years. And when regular adventurous out-of-state students discover Clemson, they love it. The football program has been a magnet. A very similar scenario has played out at Alabama and Georgia.

You can't have it both ways - you want a big NIL deal, then sign a contract to lock you into that University. For the majority of college athletes, NIL isn't applicable (may not ever play, but get a scholarship).
For those like Christian Wilkins, Big Dex, etc. look at college as an NFL internship, if you need to. Put in the work and the payday will come (and it has). Wow - isn't that a horrible thing to teach our "teens."
Instead, we are teaching our teens to take the biggest payday (NIL) today, then move on next year to the next biggest payday.

Fully agree with NIL deals taking more of set term of length with buyouts or backloaded payouts similar to coaches. At least then it would be more rare for players to leave as the destination school would have to pay their buyout on top of their NIL deal

Sounds like minor league and education is no where on the priority list. Back to: if you are only going to college to play the sport and get paid, let's allow that by changing NFL rules (for the very few that could go directly to NFL) and have a minor league similar to MLB for those that want to prep for NFL (without wanting a college education) - let them collect all the NIL $$$ they want/can.

ESPN is not losing Clemson and FSU go to FOX IMO and ESPN holds the rights now to the CFP do they not? I think they move FSU and Clemson to the SEC in 26 and tie it in to a deal to increase TV inventory through adding a 9 or even 10th SEC conference game. The SEC schedule opponent rotation is already set for 8 conference games in 24 and the same 8 opponents for 25. After that expect changes IMO.
