This includes component replacement on the engine. Probably not the cheapest but they have not let me down so far.

How do you keep Gamecocks out of your yard?

Your Honest Mechanic, Easley. They really seem to stand by their name.

The Upstate is not so small but if you live near Clemson, try Durham Automotive on Hwy 183 just outside of Six Mile toward Pickens. They replaced an engine for us and did excellent work.

Man there are plenty of mechanics out there that can work on the older vehicles like your 96 firebird. But get one that has a clean organized shop, and just make sure that whoever owns the shop has up to date ASE certifications in the types of jobs they say that they can do. Just like a technician that works on your brakes, they should be ASE certified in brakes, engines, transmissions, electrical, auto A/C. Just make sure they are ASE certified in what you want fixed bc, they're all going to charge you as being certified technicians... Mom and Pops shops anybody with a brain should stay clear of them bc those are the best places to get ripped OFF...

I agree with your assessment, I just don't know of any of these shops... I too agree that a clean organized mechanic is the best, but they are hard to find and usually busy!

Sorry, but very few actual mechanics now exist.
