Favorite 80s albums?

Been listening to some full albums on Spotify this morning. Was on an 80s kick for some reason, listening to some of my favorite albums (or cassettes/CDs as it was, back in the day):
Play Deep, The Outfield Innocent Man, Billy Joel Sports, Huey Lewis & the News Can't Hold Back, Eddie Money 1984, Van Halen 5150, Van Halen Beauty and the Beat, the Go-Gos Eliminator, ZZ Top
I was all over the place with my music back then. Still am!
Love being able to stream full albums online. Would've saved me a lot of trouble back in my student days (87-91) lugging around all those cassettes every time I made the 12 hour drive to/from campus!

We just watched Boy George live on ETV recently. I forgot how good all those songs were on that Culture Club - Colour by Numbers album. We were all up and dancing in the middle of the den.

+1. That was a classic Smack Daddy ... more rock n' roll for Chrissie Hynde and her British band mates (while still living) than later albums ... great tracks all the way through. Must have been around the time she met Ray Davies.

gravitated instead to modern country music. It just so happened at that time that country music was morphing into what in the late 70s was referring to as "easy listening" rock. Alabama, Travis Tritt and others kind of led that movement. The Alabama 'black cover" (Feels So Right) album is one of my favorites from that time, along with Travis Tritt's "Country Club" album, his first release.

U2 - The Joshua Tree Michael Jackson - Thriller (laugh if you want, but that was a MASSIVE album) Police - Synchronicity Duran Duran - Rio Duran Duran - Seven and the Ragged Tiger (not your typical boy band; these guys were legitimate musicians) Eurythmics - Revenge (Annie Lennox - GREAT alto voice!)
From my favorite band: Queen The Game (the best of their 80s output) The Works A Kind of Magic

Appetite for Destruction - Guns n Roses is one of the most Iconic albums of all time in my opinion. This was released in 1987, and is still their best Album, although Use your Illusion I and II were really good as well.

Kept scrolling to see in anyone was going to mention southern rock. I’d add Don Barnes/Carlisi and the other Van Zant’s 80’s albums to that list - wild eyed southern boys, special forces, tour de force. Great and extremely underrated albums!

Being lazy as far as looking up titles, but Eagles and Queen should be represented
Couple of odd additions but The Smiths and The Cure had good ones; UB40, Squeeze honorable mention
For soundtracks, I nominate Big Chill and Good Morning Vietnam

Not an album but an event
Live Aid - July 13-14? 1985. Don’t think we will ever see a lineup like that again. Bob Geldof pulled off something pretty #### special.
