Strange Mothers Day for me

As some of you know about my situation, the newness of it all is overwhelming, exciting, and awkward at times. I do want to say that I am thankful to several people in my life on this Mother’s Day
First of course is to my adoptive mom who took me in and gave me a great childhood until I was 10. After my parents divorce, I chose to live with my dad and our relationship essentially ended. I am thankful for what she gave me and it made me not want to be like her. Not bitter, but to learn to love unconditionally and be unselfish
Secondly, to all the women all along my childhood who guided me and made me feel like their own son, thanks
Thirdly, my birth mother and this new adventure we are sharing together. It is something I didn’t know I even needed. I look forward to all the memories to be made.
Lastly, my dad! May he rest easy in heaven. He was both mom and dad to me but Most of all my best friend
He is the example of what a parent should be and I am thankful to have been blessed so richly
Each of you mothers out there have a wonderful day and God bless each of you!

Absolutely agree Kermit & mfo. We have a lot of folks on here who should just pass on by if they’re not interested, but for some reason they have to make some crass or cutting comment.

Sometimes people just need to get things off their chest and share. And this can be a good place to do so since we are a community who are familiar with one another to support, but at the same time it’s anonymous enough where it does not feel too personal or invasive to share and read about others thoughts.
